Re: Denver, Boise & Johnson songs

Hello -

Many years ago I came across this site after discovering Michael Johnson on my local Pacifica radio station (KPFT in Houston TX). His "Departure" album had just come out at that time. Shortly afterward I had the pleasure of seeing him perform twice, and I was able to meet him briefly as well. Needless to say, as so many other people, I have been an admirer of his music since the first time I heard him. I was a John Denver fan for years before that; I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the two had performed together. Again, like so many other people I've read from here, my musical tastes and my guitar playing have been profoundly influenced by these two men.

I have yet to find any Boise/Denver/Johnson audio recordings, so the links given in this message board are greatly appreciated.

A long time ago, from this message board, I found out about a VHS video series called "Live at Greenwich Village". I purchased Volume 3 in the series, which contains 3 performances by the Chad Mitchell Trio - "Both Sides Now", "Born to Be Free", and "That's The Way It Ought To Be". You can still occasionally find used copies of this VHS tape on but I don't know if you can get it new anymore.

The previous post by Diane Boise mentioned the song "Both Sides Now", and that prompted me to post here. I read somewhere that at some point, David Boise along with Johnson and Denver performed under the Chad Mitchell Trio name ... is that correct? The individual members of the trio aren't identified in this video so I do not know for sure who the third gentleman is.

Anyway - I don't think I can get in trouble for offering to give away free copies, can I? If you'd like one, please let me know.

All the best
