Re: Micheal Jackson
In Response To: Micheal Jackson ()

I read the Michael Jackson post and just had to shake my head.

I think as a musician, he was certainly a creative genius. Great melodies, fantastic hooks, and visual as well, showing off dance in a way that hadn't been seen since the days of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly.

I also think he paid the price of his fame from a very early age, and had no real childhood to draw on. He was a commodity almost from the day he could walk, and like other child stars, the reality of growing up revealed the basic human ideas and ideals he never learned.

I always thought he'd end up in prison or dead by his own hand, his behavior is to me and countless others beyond weird, strange, odd. His past does seem to reveal that he has at least an unhealthy and non realistic view of children, and if found guilty? I'd be the first one to suggest they throw away the key. Sad ending for someone who had it all, but maybe never had as much as we thought.

On a related note, I saw that someone wrote"isnt this the Michael Johnson board"? For me, a long time reader and occasional poster, I'd love to see this site expanded with conversation about ANYTHING music. Bought a must have CD? I'd love to read about it. Bought a guitar you can't put down? Fill me in, I may want to buy one!

The bottom line, this is a GREAT place to learn about MJ and his loyal fans, but would it be wrong to express our opinions and maybe expand on our tastes, find out what other music makes us tick? And in the doing so, might it bring others to the site who, in turn, might learn about how great MJ is? Just a thought.

What do you think?

Happy Thanksgiving folks :)
