Extremely sad to hear about Michael's passing. I first saw him in 1976 or '77 in Bismarck, North Dakota. He was an incredibly gifted guitarist, vocalist, and showman. I saw him about a dozen times in the past 40 years and it was always an excellent show. I also was lucky enough to have several talks with him over the years about music and guitar and he was always engaging and interesting. Talked with him backstage once in Moorhead, Minnesota in the early '80s and he showed me his arrangement of "One Note Samba". Didn't have to and was probably plenty tired from doing a show, but he was so gracious and kind. His records from the '70s will be with me as long as I live. R.I.P. Mr. Johnson
